Everybody talks about teamwork and how essential it is to work as a team. However, this can only be effective if the individual members of that team share the same ethos. Stable Court Dental Surgery was founded on the desire to care for our patients and treat them as individuals. Whilst the size of our practice has changed dramatically, expanding over time from two to seven surgeries, with a corresponding increase in the number of clinicians, our ethos has remained the same.
Our dentists and therapists have specific interests in various aspects of dentistry including general and cosmetic restorative work, smile design, oral surgery, dental implants, endodontics, orthodontics, and facial aesthetics. But, whilst our interests may vary we all strongly believe in delivering better oral health and advocating treatment solutions tailored specifically to you on a personal level.
We understand that in dentistry as in life one size does not fit all so we have maintained a large commitment to the NHS , Denplan and private care . Throughout the pandemic we have operated as an Urgent Dental Care centre and our dental team have been committed to helping out those in need of our services.
Stephen has worked in the Holme Valley for over 30 years and was the previous principal dentist at Stable Court Dental Surgery.
Having passed the mantle onto Shamraze , he has now reduced his clinical commitment which has allowed him to focus on his interests in both crown and bridgework and denture construction where he has nearly 40 years of experience.
He is also a strong advocate of dental education and continues to be an educational supervisor in the practice for newly qualified colleagues.
Away from work Stephen spends his time with his wife and large family . 8 children and 2 grand children last time we checked ! He is an avid rugby league fan and for his sins is also a season ticket holder at Manchester United.
Shamraze joined Stable Court Dental Surgery in 2013 as an associate taking over as principal dentist from Stephen Wood in 2020. He offers all aspects of general dentistry to his patients largely on a private / Denplan basis.
In recent years he has developed a keen interest in orthodontics attending many courses to increase the number of options he can offer in this field including Invisalign. He has recently completed his PGcert in fixed orthodontics to further enhance his skills.
Away from the practice Shamraze is married with a young son devoting much time to his large extended family but is holding on to his youth maintaining a keen interest in gaming !
Wendy is a very experienced dental associate who has spent the vast majority of her practicing life working in the Huddersfield area , predominantly in the Holme Valley. Wendy joined us in November 2019 to increase our commitment to providing family orientated dentistry in our locality.
Her input has been invaluable helping us to navigate the pandemic working as an integral member of our team especially after we were designated as an Urgent Dental Care Centre by the NHS. She has deservedly built up a loyal following of patients who appreciate her kind and caring disposition.
When she is not working Wendy is a mum of two destressing from her busy life by spending time cooking often using ingredients sourced from her allotment.
Aatika qualified from Leeds in 2020 and joined us immediately afterward for her foundation year. She rose to the challenges presented by working through a pandemic and embraced these with her usual good humour rapidly establishing herself as an integral member of our clinical team. In fact she liked us so much she decided to stay on after her initial year and become a permanent clinician at Stable Court.
Aatika offers all aspects of general dentistry. She enjoys working with anxious patients and has developed a keen interest in Invisalign orthodontics where you can use clear aligners to straighten your teeth with minimal impact on your day-to-day life .
Away from work Aatika is married and enjoys cooking and swimming . She is also an avid follower of F1.
After qualifying from Sheffield University and subsequent completion of her foundation year Meg worked for twelve months at Rotherham General Hospital as a dentist in the maxillofacial department . We are fortunate that she has chosen to bring the skills and experience that this position afforded her to enhance our team at Stable Court Dental Surgery.
She also brings with her an interest in Invisalign and active plans to develop a sedation service for those patients who suffer from anxiety and dental phobias.
Meg has settled in the Holme valley where she is able to spend her weekends walking her beautiful dog Yogi . She likes to keep fit by playing tennis and involves herself in musical theatre.
Lauren is the youngest member of our clinical team joining as our foundation dentist in September 2021. She is rapidly gaining experience and enjoys meeting the challenges faced in general practice.
She has impressed us all very much with her work ethic and her ‘can do’ attitude. Lauren is thriving at Stable Court where her inherent caring nature and excellent communication skills were immediately obvious to all.
Away from her surgery commitments, Lauren’s dream is to appear as a contestant on ‘bake-off’. ( We are all loving the samples! ) and is a keen follower of many sports, especially American Football.
Nadeem qualified from Manchester University with honours in 2013 and after completing a year as a foundation dentist he followed his heart and embarked on a career move into the hospital dental service where he gained significant surgical experience.
In 2014 he gained the MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). His commitment to ongoing education continues undiminished and he routinely attends courses in the UK, Europe, and the USA related to his chosen fields of oral surgery and dental implants.
Nadeem puts his patients at the epicenter of his clinical practice and is always happy to engage with them so a successful path can be navigated through the treatment choices available.
Away from work Nadeem loves to spend time with friends and family, keeping fit and traveling to experience new cultures.
